Adjunct Faculty Position Announcement

Quinebaug Valley Community College seeks qualified, enthusiastic individuals to serve as adjunct faculty. The minimum qualifications to teach at the College are a master’s degree in an appropriate subject area and 1-3 years college teaching experience. There are exceptions made in some subject areas where a potential faculty member has substantial experience in a pertinent career. Experience as a high school teacher may substitute for college teaching experience.

Hiring Process:

When materials are submitted, a file is created in the office of the dean of Learning and Student Development. Faculty liaisons review the files periodically as they search for faculty to fill openings.

When there is an opening, faculty liaisons consult the files and call applicants to schedule interviews. Liaisons complete nomination forms for selected candidates and submit them to the dean for approval and processing.

Contracts are issued by the College’s business office beginning about two months before the semester begins. A signed contract is required before an instructor begins to teach.
