WebCT Vista Course Information

• Every full and part-time faculty member who has a contract to teach has course shells ready for use in WebCT Vista. While on-campus training is offered across the 12 Connecticut Community Colleges, please don't think that you can't use WebCT Vista if you did not attend a formal training session.

The resource page for faculty and staff can answer many of your WebCT Vista question. This page provides WebCT Vista log-in instructions and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).

You will also see a link to help students get oriented to WebCT Vista. If you plan to use WebCT Vista as an online communication tool, you may want to use this learning module at the beginning of the semester to help them navigate the course.

Click here to view the Spring 2008 WebCT Vista Student Orientation sessions to be held in August. If students contact you before the semester starts, please encourage them to attend one of the training sessions.

  1. Launch your browser (e.g., Internet Explorer)
  2. Enter http://my.commnet.edu in the address bar
  3. Enter your NetID (e.g., 87654321@qvcc.commnet.edu)
  4. Enter your 8-character NetID PIN

• Accessing your QVCC Netmail

  1. Launch your browser (e.g., Internet Explorer)
  2. Enter www.mail.commnet.edu in the address bar
  3. Enter your user name
  (i.e., [first initial of first name][last name]@qvcc.commnet.edu
  Example: John Smith is jsmith@qvcc.commnet.edu
  4. Enter your password

• Resetting your QVCC Netmail Password

  1. Launch your browser (e.g., Internet Explorer)

  3. Enter BannerID@qvcc.commnet.edu
  Note: No @ sign before your BannerID
  4. Click Next button
  5. Enter the last 4 digits of your Social Security number
  6. Enter your birth date (month, day, year-mmddyy)
  7. Click Continue button
  8. Your password will be reset to the original default password, i.e., first 3 letters of your birth month (first letter is a capital) + & + last 4 digits of your social security number. For example, Oct&6789
