Quinebaug Valley Community College is pleased to offer quality education in an aesthetically pleasing environment that is clean and well maintained.
The Facilities Management Department is responsible for handling the day-to-day maintenance and operation of the college’s physical plant and infrastructure. This includes sanitation, maintenance of the campus grounds both in terms of lawn care, flower and garden care, litter control, snow removal, enforcement of preventative maintenance programs, administration of locking and key control systems, operation of utility and mechanical systems, minor building repairs, installations, and renovations, event set-up, and related services.
Facilities Management staff are always willing to assist students, faculty, and staff with service requests. Maintenance personnel are often away from the office, working in various areas throughout the building and therefore service requests should be submitted via a work order form. A written request ensures your request is handled appropriately in a timely manner.
Work order forms are handled in the order in which they are received. A request for service will be prioritized by the building maintenance supervisor based on current work level, safety or health priority, funding, academic and class schedules and any other related factors. Every effort will be made to address your work order request in a timely manner. If there will be a lengthy delay due to any of the factors noted above, you will be notified.
Please help us process your work order quickly by ensuring it is filled out completely with a detailed explanation of the work you are requesting. Be sure to obtain the required approvals before sending it to the building maintenance supervisor
