Faculty Development and Review
The Connecticut Community College System has a contractually defined cycle of professional development review for all faculty--both adjunct and full-time. The plan, in general, establishes a set of expected steps to be taken by faculty and managers to establish practical goals for ongoing professional development as well as regular review of the results of such development. This review includes self-evaluation by faculty, student evaluation of faculty, and a collegial review of faculty by their managers (Deans).
On request, the campus TLC can give faculty feedback in the preparation of their FDRP
The philosophy and description of this process (Faculty Development and Review Process, FDRP) can be found along with supporting documents on the Connecticut Community College System website. Various faculty development forms, including those for classroom observations and self assessment are among the documents at that site.
