General Course and College Requirements:
Please note:
The college
itself requires that for each 1 hour of class time, students
should be expected to complete a minimum of 2 hours of
"homework" in a regular course. Each student should
consider this expectation carefully when deciding to register for any
course. As a minimum standard it indicates, at the very least,
what a student might expect in terms of a given course's workload
over a semester.
With this in mind,
in this course you will be expected to participate in class
discussion(s) and processes, having read the relevant, assigned
readings each week. As well, written assignments and projects will be
expected on the day(s) they are due.
At the end of the semester a separate grade will be determined, to be averaged into your final grade, reflecting your attendance and participation. (This will be discussed in class.)
Late projects etc. of 50pts. or more will be downgraded by 10% for each day late.
Those of 40pts. or less will be downgraded by 20%/day.
After 4 days, late assignments will not be accepted.
It is the responsibility of each student to make arrangements to make-up any missed quizzes or tests. I will not be able to review for tests or quizzes for individual make-ups: if you miss a test or quiz, please be sure to find another student who can help you review. The work of the class also relies heavily on your active, in-class contribution to one another; please consider this above all in your attendance and participation. Your particular part in our class-process is valuable!
