Connecticut Small Business Development - Northeast CT Sub-Center
The Connecticut Small Business Development Center (CSBDC) is a statewide network funded through a grant from the federal Small Business Administration and the University of Connecticut, with QVCC providing matching in-kind funds. QVCC operates a regional CSBDC Sub-center at the Danielson campus. The major goal of the sub-center is to provide professional counseling and training programs for both start-up and existing small businesses in all areas of business management, including the business plan, marketing, and access to financing. The QVCC sub-center offers the following services:
- Individual, confidential consulting in such areas as pre-venture feasibility, marketing, record-keeping, financial planning, production, business purchase, and general management for small businesses engaged in retail, wholesale, manufacturing and service-oriented activities.
- Expert instruction on specific and varied business topics. Courses range from advanced presentations aimed at furthering the growth potential of established businesses to introductory courses for those considering starting out in business.
- Expertise in management and financial assistance. Networking our staff’s resources with other professionals in business, the CSBDC can assist in financial planning and loan packaging.
The consulting and information are free. Small fees are charged for some of the courses, workshops, and seminars. For additional information, contact Jack Derby, NE Connecticut Sub-center director, at 774-1133 (jderby@qvcc.commnet.edu) or visit our website at www.qvcc.commnet.edu/cpl.
