Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

cnaCNAs provide assistance to patients with daily living tasks in nursing homes, hospitals, mental health facilities, assisted living facilities, and private homes. They are responsible for basic care services such as bathing, grooming and feeding patients, checking patient vital signs, assisting nurses with medical equipment and giving patients important social and emotional support.

This program consists of classroom instruction plus hands-on clinical training in a health care facility. Students will gain the knowledge and skills required to obtain CNA licensing in Connecticut.

Job prospects for CNAs are expected to be excellent due to the increasing long-term care needs of an aging population. Many QVCC graduates are employed locally. In addition, QVCC trained CNAs have a 97% success rate in passing the CNA course and clinical component.

Duration:   120 hours
Price:  $999 (textbooks and gait belt are included in the price of the course)
