Week One July 7th to July 11th

Dr. Doolittle’s Animal Farm
For all the young animal lovers, this course will introduce your child to a variety of different animals, proper pet care, and how we can live harmoniously with our animal friends.  Each day will feature new and interesting projects and various pets will be brought in by students and guests throughout the week.

Building Robots from Recyclable Junk
Learn the basics of robot building and create simple robots from parts you have around the house, such as old CD-ROMs, plastic bottles, film containers, and other art supplies.  You will take home all robots you make by the end of the course.  Bring any materials you would like to include in your robot.

Drawing in 2D
Students will focus on drawing and painting using a broad range of media, including charcoal, graphite, watercolor, and pastels. Art builds dexterity, increases focus, and brings out the creativity in your child.  Don’t miss out on this fantastic class.  All materials are included.

Week 2 (Danielson) – July 14th to 18th

Food Artistry
Join us as we explore the many ways to make an assortment of foods into wonderful works of art.  Gingerbread houses are just the beginning, as you build with cookies and chocolate chips, print with potatoes, and sculpt with cheese to make the most delicious creations you’ve ever seen….or tasted!

Kids Dig Dirt
In this introductory gardening class, students will make a terrarium from soda bottles, make a garden stone with molds and quick cement, create a worm garden from a shoe box, make recycled paper, build a bird house or bird feeder from gourds, and create eggshell people with grass hair.

Archeological Treasure Hunters
Become a paleontologist and go on an excavation to search for dinosaur remains and fossils.  Then move ahead to the days of the gold rush and pan for real gems and minerals like the prospectors did.  Learn about the science of archeology and what practicing archeologists really do.  Uncover something new in a real live archeological dig.

Week 3 (Danielson) – July 21st to 25th

Gizmos & Gadgets
Explore science the fun way in Edison’s workshop.  Learn how gizmos and gadgets work; build simple machines and create junkology.  Visit Newton’s Lab to reinvent some of the greatest discoveries ever.  As junior inventors, you’ll also make some awesome science take-homes everyday.

Arts & Crafts
Help your child find his or her own artistic voice through hands-on exploration.  This course may include such topics as: drawing and watercolor, jewelry making, magnet building, sculpture, collage creations, and more.

Sponge Bob’s Under the Sea Science
Dive into Plankton’s science laboratory and soak up some astounding underwater adventures.  Explore the ocean depths with your friends from Bikini Bottom and turn the classroom into the Suds Seaside Lab.  You might even make your very own krabby patties, so come and have a blast with other Sponge Bob enthusiasts.

When does science seem like magic?  When it’s chemistry!  Join your peers at Hogwarts Academy and learn truly fascinating experiments inspired by the Harry Potter movies.  You’ll make cool chemical reactions, bring home recipes, and keep everything that you create.
