Sculpture
This exciting course is for all students who love sculpture and creating depth in their art work.  Participants will use a variety of different materials to create clay objects, mobiles, animal figures, and more.  Students will bring home all projects they create during the week.

Week 2 (Danielson) – July 14th to 18th

Beginning Computer Game Programming
If you’re into playing computer games, why not take the next step and create one?  Learn how to use Visual Basic to combine animated objects and graphics into complex multi-level games.  Who knows, this could be your first step to a career in computer games!  How cool would that be?

Cartooning & Caricatures
If you love to draw, and have always wanted to learn how to create cartoons and caricatures, this is the course for you.  Focus on the development of drawing skills basic to the cartoon and caricature form, learn how to handle tools and materials, and to manipulate line and form.  Students will create panel cartoons and also book level graphic comic-art.  Japanese anime will also be a focus in this class

Week 3 (Danielson) – July 21st to 25th

Watercolor Painting
Discover the beauty of watercolor painting in this class for art lovers.  Emphasis will be placed on the development of each student’s expression, style, and artistic vocabulary.  This class is for beginners as well as more advanced artists who have a passion for more technically sophisticated paintings.   All materials will be included.

Learn about crime scene investigation and detective work through in-class discussion of actual cases and guest lecture presentations.  Class projects may include solving instructor-created cases through the collection, organization and interpretation of data.  In the past, guest visitors from the local   K-9 unit, the crime scene investigation van, police officers, and attorneys have been a huge hit.  Please note – this course may contain graphic material that some parents might consider unsuitable for their child.

Myth Busters
Separate truth from urban legend with the help of modern-day science in this exciting course.  Answer the age-old question of whether combining pop-rocks and coca-cola equals a cool explosion, debate whether alligators actually grow to enormous proportions in our sewers, and even try a simple test whether bread will always land butter side down.  Students will perform new and exciting experiments everyday.  Unlike the television show, of course, visually spectacular explosions will not take place.
