Division Council is the elected body which represents the Division of Learning and Student Development in the development of policies and procedures relating to all academic and student development issues of Quinebaug Valley Community College. No change or creation of policy related to academics and student development, and no development or change in curricular or programmatic credit offerings, should be made without the participation of Division Council and the notification of the larger Division of Learning and Student Development.

The council is organized into three bodies - the Academic Issues committee, the Policy & Planning committee, and the Division Council committee that these two bodies report to.

Division Council

Any member of the faculty or staff of Quinebaug Valley Community College may attend any meeting of Division Council, Academic Issues, or Policy & Planning and may participate in discussion. Only committee members may vote on any item.

Division Council’s primary function is the development and oversight of policies, procedures, and proposals related to programs, curriculum, and other functions of the division and its constituent members in order to make recommendations to the Division Dean. Division Council is comprised of six members who are elected from the faculty and staff of the LSD Division and who serve two year terms.
