New Classrooms

As part of the expansion at QVCC a series of 10 technology-enhanced classrooms have been created. There are 6 standard classrooms and 4 more specialized classrooms. In addition, a new Art Gallery and conference room have been enhanced with sound and projection systems. The following links will provide some guidance in the usage of these classrooms.

Typical Classroom - Overview

Typical TouchscreenA typical smart classroom consists of an equipment rack located in the teachers station, a touch-screen, a wireless mic, a projection screen, and a LCD projector. Each station can project both the video and the audio from the following sources; a Room PC, a laptop, a DVD or VHS player, cable TV, an auxiliary video source (such as a video camera), and a document camera. Typical classrooms include W102, W106, W201, W202, W205, and W208.

Specialized Classrooms

In addition to the equipment mentioned above, four classrooms have been further enhanced. These include two Combinable Classrooms (W100 & W101), a Collaborative Learning Classroom (W105), and a Distance Learning Classroom (W205).

Other Technology Enhanced Spaces

Both the President's Conference Room and the Atrium Art Gallery have been enhanced with installed technology. In the case of the Presidents Conference Room this includes a LCD Projector and sound system equipped with a DVD/VCR player, a laptop input, an aux video and document camera input, and cable TV. The Art Gallery is equipped with a sound system that feeds both the gallery and the atrium, a DVD/VCR player, a 40" LCD monitor, two wireless mics, and an input for both a laptop and several aux video sources.
