Networking Lab

QVCC has a networking lab consisting of 7 workstations. These workstations have 1 GHz processors and 128 MB of RAM. Each of them are dual boot consisting of Win98 and Linux. This gives the students to practice network configurations in either operating system. There is also a Win2000 server plus various devices. This lab allows the students to work on various labs for class. They learn how to make patch cables, cross-over cables, how to configure the computers to be able to network and communicate with each other.

In the 'Internetworking Devices' class, the students use hubs, switches and routers to try various configurations for networking.
