QVCC PROGRAM GIVES COLLEGE CREDIT FOR PRIOR LEARNING AND EXPERIENCE
Quinebaug Valley Community College will provide an opportunity for students to explore the possibility of receiving college credit for knowledge and skills acquired through direct life/work experiences by offering a Credit for Prior Learning Workshop on Tuesday, January 15, from 5:00 – 6:30 pm at the College’s Willimantic Center.
Students in the Credit for Prior Learning Portfolio Preparation course learn
how to analyze, organize, assess, and articulate their knowledge and skills
and to relate that learning to specific college-level curricula. Each
student develops a portfolio that is submitted to an assessment committee
for possible award of college credits.
Students wishing to register for this course (which will be offered this
spring at the Danielson campus) must attend a Credit for Prior Learning
Workshop, and it is also an opportunity for interested students to see if
this is a good option for them. The workshop is free and registration is not
required.
The Willimantic Center is located at 729 Main Street in downtown
Willimantic. For more information, call Dr. Scott DeShong at 412-7252.
