APRIL IS POETRY MONTH AT QVCC
The English and Humanities Departments at Quinebaug Valley Community
College are sponsoring the following events this month during National
Poetry Month.
• Poetry Coffeehouse, Open Mic and Workshop. Held at Eastern Perk, Main
Street, Willimantic, April 3rd, 3 pm. There will be free coffee & pastry.
• The Julius Sokenu Poetry Prize Dinner with special guest poet, Doug Anderson. This will be held at Thai Basil, 187 North Street, Danielson at 6:30 pm on Monday, April 21st. Sokenu is a former QVCC professor of English. Free food will be provided.
• Richard Schaaf on Political Poetry and Oral Tradition. Held at the QVCC
Willimantic Center, 729 Main Street, Willimantic at 1:00 pm on Wednesday,
April 23rd.
