QVCC HAS RECORD NUMBER OF GRADUATES IN CLASS OF 2007
Two-hundred ten students, the largest in the College’s history,
will graduate this evening from Quinebaug Valley Community College in
Danielson. Both associate degrees and certificates will be awarded at the
College’s 35th commencement.
Among the speakers will be Dr. Louise Berry of Brooklyn, chairman of the
Board of Trustees of Connecticut Community-Technical Colleges; Dr. Paul
Susen, chief academic officer, representing the Chancellor’s Office; Rev.
David Canon of the Board of Trustees; QVCC President Dianne Williams; and
the student speaker, Michael C. Roberson of Willimantic, who was selected by
a college committee.
Leading the processional will be the Mace Bearer, Donna Grant of Pomfret, a
QVCC graduate, member of the QVCC Foundation, and executive director of TEEG
(Thompson Ecumenical Empowerment Group). The Banner Bearers will be
graduates Karen Amill of Willimantic and Amanda L. Giles of Plainfield.
The prestigious Board of Trustees Merit Award will be presented to Gary and
Karen Osbrey of Putnam, owners of WINY Radio.
