QVCC COMING TO PLAINFIELD IN SEPTEMBER
Financial Aid Workshops Will be Held August 2 & 7
Plainfield residents won’t have as far to travel
this fall if they want to take a course at Quinebaug Valley Community
College.
After discussions with First Selectman Kevin Cunningham and Superintendent
of Plainfield Public Schools Mary Conway, this September QVCC will offer
four credit courses at Plainfield High School. Introduction to Studio Art
(Mondays), the Vietnam War (Tuesdays), Introduction to Software Applications
(Wednesdays), and Introduction to Nutrition (Thursdays) will be held from
5:30 - 8:15 pm beginning the week of September 4.
According to QVCC President Dianne Williams, “We are pleased to be able to
offer these courses in the beautiful new high school for the convenience of
Plainfield residents.” Williams added that “Plainfield residents may also
benefit from the 88.4% increase the College received in state financial
aid.” QVCC will offer financial aid workshops at PHS on August 2 at 1:00 pm
and August 7 at 5:00 pm.
Open registration for these courses as well as those in Danielson and
Willimantic will be held at the Danielson Campus on August 1, 8, 15, and 22
from 12:00 – 6:30 pm. Registration at the Willimantic Center is on a walk-in
or appointment basis.
