QV ROTARACT STUDENTS LEND A HAND TO ARC

Six members of the Quinebaug Valley Regional Rotaract Club assisted the ARC of Quinebaug Valley (Association for Retarded Citizens) in painting their offices on Cook Hill Road in Killingly.

As a small, not-for-profit agency, the ARC did not have resources to have the building painted. A local volunteer helped in power washing the exterior and prepping it for painting. On Sunday, September 23, 2007, the Rotaract club members spent a good part of the day applying paint to the boards and were able to finish half way up two sides of the building. More work was completed this past Saturday, with assistance from some Putnam and Danielson Rotary members. “We hope to be able to finish the entire first story of the building for the ARC” stated Woodstock resident Jarrod Hebert, president of the Rotaract Club. A bucket truck will be brought in to do the second floor.

Members that participated were Hebert, Treasurer Nick Mainville of Brooklyn, Lexie Hayes of Putnam, Christopher Stevens of Woodstock, Art Caudill of Moosup, and Secretary Gabe Hall of Pomfret. They were assisted by club advisor Putnam Rotarian Pam Brown. According to Brown, the project in on-going and the group plans to see it through to completion.
