Press Conference to Announce QVCC as Site for New Manufacturing Center

On Friday, Februray 3, 2012, State Senator, Donald E. Williams, Jr., president pro tempore, and QVCC President Dr. Ross Tomlin will be hosting a press conference to formally announce Quinebaug Valley Community College (QVCC) as one of the three new advanced manufacturing centers to be constructed at community colleges in the state.  

QVCC was one of seven community colleges in the state to submit a proposal in late November. Part of the proposal was for a 4,000 square foot addition to the the Danielson campus’s existing manufacturing lab. Plans are for the college to offer an advanced manufacturing degree and certificate and a precision manufacturing degree and certificate.  In partnership with H.H. Ellis Technical High School in Danielson, QVCC will begin to offer courses in fall 2012 at the high school location while construction begins at the Danielson site.
