MISSION
Our primary mission is to promote manufacturing as a career option and ensure that training and employee development education is available at the local level. To achieve this goal we work very closely with Quinebaug Valley Community College (QVCC), our primary source for training and education programs.
WHAT WE DO
QMI works with Quinebaug Valley Community College (QVCC) to review existing and proposed course content and equipment needs for the College of Technology to ensure their credit and non-credit programs continually address the needs of our industries. We continue to partner with QVCC to sponsor low-cost quarterly seminars relative to manufacturing topics of industry interest as well as information sharing at roundtable events.
We work with high schools and their guidance counselors throughout the region to promote manufacturing as a career. One avenue we are using in this capacity is also our most rewarding achievement — sponsoring the annual High School Expo. Our Expo teams are made up of area high school students partnered with local manufacturing companies. Students are given the goal of creating a project at their school and bringing it to completion within a three-month period.
