myCommNet, the Connecticut Community Colleges' portal to Banner Self-Service, WebCT Vista, and library resources, will go-live on Wednesday, November 21, 2007. myCommNet makes it easier to conduct business, communicate with others in your classes, and participate in online class opportunities. It's where you can register for classes, check your academic progress, interact with classmates, and manage your college finances, all with a single sign-on. You only have to remember one user ID and one password to reach all of QVCC's online services. Click here for more information.
Important things you need to know:
- myCommNet, WebCT Vista, and Banner Online Student Self-Service will be unavailable starting at 12:01 a.m. on November 17, 2007, and ending at 6:59 a.m. on November 21, 2007. Off-campus access to library databases will be available via library barcode only on Monday, November 19, 2007, and Tuesday, November 20, 2007.
- At 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2007, the only way you will be able to access QVCC's online services is by visiting: http://my.commnet.edu.
- You will log in to myCommNet using your existing NetID and password. Your NetID is composed of the following two items:
Username: BannerID (without the "@" sign)
Domain: @student.commnet.edu (for students);
@qvcc.commnet.edu (for faculty & staff)
For example: A student with a BannerID of @87654321 will have the following NetID:
87654321@student.commnet.edu
More information about your NetID can be found at www.commnet.edu/netid. Information on resetting your NetID password (students and faculty only) can be found at the same location.
- We strongly recommend you try your NetID and password before myCommNet goes live on November 21, 2007. You can go to the Computer Lab in the East Wing and the student workers can assist you with loggin in. If, however, coming to campus is not convenient, please use the new Verification NetID Utility by entering your NetID and password to verify accuracy at: https://www.commnet.edu/netid/verifynetid.asp.
