Why QVCC?
Two months after moving to the United States from Peru, Fiorela was introduced to the Willimantic Center by her cousin. With limited English proficiency and a desire to learn, she met a caring staff, many with bilingual skills, who made her feel comfortable and helped her build confidence to overcome the language barrier. "I knew it would be difficult, but QVCC gave me the confidence to keep moving on."
What's Next?
After graduating from QVCC, Fiorela received a bachelor's degree in communications disorders from the University of Connecticut and is currently working towards a master's degree in early childhood education at the University of Hartford. She is also working at the front desk at the Willimantic Center while she finishes her degree. "My dream is to be an instructor at QVCC."
