Minutes of September 7, 2005

President Hillary Poudrette called the meeting to order at 11:08 am.
Treasurer’s Report:
Susan reported that we will have approximately $21,500 for our budget this
year. We discussed the distribution of our budget, and mentioned allowing
$300 for Alpha Beta Gama (ABG), and $1,000 for the QV Voice. We should know
more by our October meeting.
Proposal from Slav Sharapov:
Slave would like to try and have a ping-pong tournament at the end of this
semester. Maybe we could have different levels? And small prizes for the
winners? Rachel made a motion to go ahead and support this event, and was
seconded by Danielle. All in favor, motion passed.
Expenditures Thus Far:
Bus for Waterfire - $480
Tip for Driver - $50.00 petty cash
Bulletin Board Supplies - $13.23
Piano Tuned - $248.50
Providence Waterfire:
Will take place this Saturday, September 10th. We will leave Willimantic at
2:30 and Danielson at 3:00. We will depart Providence at 10:30 pm. Tickets
are $5.00 and are available in the bookstore.
Welcome Back Socials:
The event will take place in Danielson on Wednesday, September 14th from
11:30 to 1:00. We will also use this time to Kick-off the High 5 Campaign
with the QVCC Foundation.
This will take place in Willimantic on Thursday, September 15th from 11:30 to 1:00.
Pool Sticks and Waiver Forms:
We need to think of something to do with our pool sticks and other
equipment. Jon Bisson will check with Christine Mailhot to see if we could
have some kind of check in/check out policy with them.
Support for Victims of Hurricane Katrina:
• Penny Wars
• Tape a teacher to the wall
• Other ideas to come….
Elections for Representatives:
The open positions will be announced at out socials.
Random Thoughts and Comments:
Carole Blodgett came to us with a proposal. She is collecting school
supplies for children at Spring Creek Elementary School, and was wondering
if we could set up a collection area here at QV. She will get a list to us
of the school supplies that are needed, and we will then put up some
collection boxes.
Danielle gave some good ideas of holding Student vs. Faculty Tournaments, Relay Races, Basketball, and Volleyball games, Pool Tournaments, etc. We will look into this further.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:57 am.
The next meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 21st at 11:00
am.
Respectfully Submitted,
Jenn Armstrong
Secretary
